Medellín becomes a national example for the management of COVID-19

After more than 50 days of mandatory preventive isolation, Mayor Daniel Quintero gives a positive balance of the behavior of the citizens and the actions taken by the municipal administration to flatten the COVID-19 contagion curve in the city.

The mayor also assured that each of the companies that starts operating must comply with health protocols established and approved by the Ministry of Health.

The president also explained the map of infections in the city and made a call to the inhabitants of some sectors such as Santa Cruz, Popular and Aranjuez where cases have increased.

The use of technology has been essential for Medellín today to become an example in the country of how to deal with the pandemic and in the care of citizens.

He also made a call to attention to self-care, reminded that the coronavirus is still active, that despite the fact that some economic sectors are gradually reactivating, there is still a long way to go.

Regarding the reopening of new economic sectors, after this third extension of the quarantine, the mayor explained how these companies should come into operation.

Responsible use of the mass transportation system is also a priority for the municipal administration.

Among the national guidelines, from this Monday children over 6 years of age up to 17 can take to the streets, that is why the mayor’s office explains how it should be done in Medellín.
