Through Decree 1585 of December 15, 2020, the Mayor’s Office of Cartagena extended until next January 16, 2021, the selective isolation with responsible individual distancing in the District of Cartagena.

The measure that comes into force as of this December 16 does not include curfew restrictions or dry law for 11 neighborhoods classified as ‘special care areas’ and that register the highest number of infections by coronavirus.

It should be noted that on November 30, Mayor William Dau Chamatt issued Decree 1473 established the curfew and dry law in: Blas de Lezo, San Fernando, Manga, El Pozón, Los Alpes, Olaya Herrera, Ternera, Las Gaviotas , Nuevo Bosque, Zaragocilla and El Campestre.

Although the rebound in COVID cases continues in the city and the authorities announced that they were studying drastic measures, the containment strategy will no longer remain in force.

Call to the Local Mayor’s Office

The local government reiterated that the local mayors should refrain from giving permits for activities and extension of hours to commercial establishments. Permits that have been previously granted and are within the validity of this decree will be without effect.

“From the Government Let’s Save Cartagena Together we invite all sectors of the economy that are in operation to strictly comply with the biosecurity protocols established for each sector, which will be monitored by the authorities.

Verification of compliance with biosafety measures and protocols will be in charge of the Secretary of the Interior, District Administrative Department of Health (Dadis), National Police, local mayors and other authorities in accordance with their powers, who may apply the sanctions established in the law ”, stated the Mayor’s Office in a statement.
