In the letter, Luis Guillermo ‘Luigi’ Echeverri referred to Iván Cepeda as a “master of deception, maker of false testimony, modern inquisitor, leader of the parliamentary guerrilla” to reproach the newspaper El País, of Spain, for interviewing the congressman, about the case of false witnesses for which Álvaro Uribe is detained at his home.

Echeverri, former manager of the electoral campaign of Iván Duque, did not save anything in that text, and also called to Cepeda “executioner of human and democratic integrity”, while a Uribe gave him the qualification of “one of the most important political leaders in the world and democracy contemporary”.

Faced with these accusations, the Senator from the Democratic Pole entuted Echeverri for “the slander” he wrote, and this Thursday, a judge agreed with Cepeda, as he himself announced on his Twitter:

Echeverri has 48 hours to comply with the togado’s order. His retraction of what he wrote about Cepeda must be public. Failure to do so, said the congressman on Caracol Radio, the senator will take other appeals against the former manager of Duque’s campaign.

On that letter, criticized by various sectors of the country, the director of El País, Spain, one of the most important newspapers, said that he was “surprised.”
