Noticias Caracol obtained the latest images of gynecologist Ernesto Ortiz Ruiz, accused of raping a patient in the middle of a medical check-up. The abuse would have occurred, on September 7, at an EPS Sanitas headquarters in Bogotá.
The specialist was summoned to a virtual hearing on the 12th of the same month, which he attended from his home. When the 38th guarantee judge issued an assurance measure for the events, which he did not acknowledge, he fled.
The gynecologist was charged with the crimes of violent carnal access and abusive sexual act with aggravated inability to resist.
It was also known that Ortiz Ruiz had been summoned to a room assigned by the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out the procedure, but he never appeared.
“He knew perfectly what the objects of the hearings were, I don’t know what arguments they will have, but they left the room without saying anything at all for more than half an hour,” the delegate prosecutor explained at the time.
The authorities are on the trail of the health professional to send him to jail. In addition to the sexual crimes for which he must answer, charges for escape of prisoners would be added.
