Iván Parra, a well-remembered Colombian journalist, died this Saturday in Bogotá after suffering from kidney problems for more than four years.
The journalist is remembered for being the director of the radio program ‘La Ventana’, for Caracol Radio, a company where he worked for about 20 years.
In his long journalistic career, of more than 35 years, he also stood out for his bullfighting chronicles for Faena magazine. In addition, he participated in the program ‘El primer café’, on Canal Capital, and worked at RCN Radio.
Gustavo Gómez, a journalist for Caracol Radio, lamented the death of the renowned communicator. “He loved the microphones and the audience will always remember him with immense affection,” he said.
A year and a half ago, Parra told EL TIEMPO about his drama about waiting for a kidney donation, an organ he had needed for more than three years.

“It is an expectation of all the hours that ends in despair. Three years and the phone doesn’t ring ”, reported at that time Parra, who died at the age of 61.

Alexandra Montoya, a journalist for ‘La Luciérnaga’, also from Caracol Radio, remembered him as a prominent bullfighting journalist.
