On the afternoon of this Monday, December 21, the mayor of Cartagena, William Dau Chamatt, issued Decree 1608 of December 21, 2020, which modifies Decree 1585 of December 15, 2020, which declares isolation selective and responsible individual distancing in the city until 00:00 hours on January 16.

In this new decree, the peak and certificate measure was adopted for access to some activities for the acquisition of goods and services in Cartagena.

This restriction, which will be implemented from this Tuesday, December 22 until 00:00 hours on January 16, 2021, seeks to avoid crowds and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the District.

The measure applies to entry and circulation in commercial establishments, especially in those places in which there are larger agglomerations such as shopping centers, banks, financial entities, Bazurto Market Square, department stores and supermarkets in general.

Exceptions

The following activities or situations are excepted from the application of the peak and schedule measure:

– The employees of the establishments to which this Decree refers, who must be duly identified and accredited by the employer, if required by the competent authorities.

– Assistance and provision of health services for emergencies or prior appointments, when they are located in these places.

– Public Servants and State Contractors in use of their functions and / or that are strictly necessary to prevent, mitigate and attend the health emergency caused by COVID-19.

– The National Police, the Military Forces and Security agencies in compliance with their Constitutional and legal mission.

– The Official Fire Department, Civil Defense, Red Cross, Relief Organizations in the fulfillment of their functions of attention to the performance of their mission.

– The officials of the public service companies to carry out the activities strictly necessary to operate or maintain the aqueduct, sewerage, electricity and cleaning.

– The provision of private security and surveillance services.

– Personnel who provide their services to the health sector.

Terraces also have time restrictions

The decree also established that in commercial establishments that operate on terraces, the same hours of stores, terraces, billiards, tobacconists, refreshments, liquor stores and salsamentarias will be applied, that is, from 06:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day.
