The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced that in the last 24 hours 8,488 new cases of covid-19 were registered, so the national number of infected reached 650,062.
According to the portfolio, 28,534 PCR tests and 7,479 antigens were processed. The total number of deaths reached 270.
The number of active cases dropped to 129,608 in the country. Thus, it was confirmed that 498,221 people have already been recovered and 20,888 deaths have been registered due to the virus.
The departments with the highest number of infections in the last 24 hours were Antioquia, with 1,658, followed by Valle, with 519 and Santander, with 464. Bogotá continues to consolidate as the city that registers the most infections, since in the last report it registered 2,159.
Globally, it was highlighted that there are 26.3 million people infected with the virus, of which 17.5 million have recovered, while 869,209 have died.
