The indigenous minga arrived this Monday, before 10:00 am, in Jamundí as they had announced for this day leaders of the mobilization in which the reserves of Cauca and the Valley participate. The passage of the caravan has caused slow traffic on that section of the road, so they recommend alternative routes to those who must travel to Cali.
“We intend for this visit to proceed with responsibility, complying with biosecurity and in peace,” said Mayor Jorge Iván Ospina, who met with the advance of the minga before noon to sign the pact with the Regional Indigenous Council of the Cauca, Cric.
The marchers concentrated in Popayán and around 2:00 pm they will continue their journey to the capital of the Valley, where they have designed a mobility operation that is accompanied by the security, health, risk management and Metropolitan Police offices.
They hope to meet with President Iván Duque in the capital of Valle to review compliance with the agreement with the National Government in 2019 and to reach new agreements on the acts of violence registered in Cauca so far this year.
If the president does not arrive in Cali, the caravan will leave for Bogotá next Wednesday.

By determination of the Mayor’s Office of Cali, the indigenous people will be housed in the El Pueblo Coliseum. The established disembarkation point is the Parque de las Banderas. From there, they will march to the Plazoleta del Centro Administrativo Municipal, CAM.
Some 70 officials of the National Government, including ministers, vice ministers, and advisers, will also arrive in Cali this Monday to hold meetings prior to the appointment with President Iván Duque.
