In Bucaramanga, this is how the curfew will govern during Christmas and the end of the year

CIn order to avoid crowds and put a brake on citizen indiscipline with biosecurity measures during the Christmas holidays, the mayor of Bucaramanga, Juan Carlos Cárdenas Rey, modified the curfew times for Christmas Eve, Christmas, and night farewell 2020 and sunrise on January 1, 2021.

The Head of the Local Government determined that the curfew will govern as follows: On December 24 it will go from 11:00 pm to 1:00 pm on December 25; Similarly, December 31 will start at 11:00 pm and will run until 1:00 pm on January 1, 2021.

“The purpose is to guarantee security, health and public order in the Santander capital,” said Cárdenas Rey.

The Municipal Government established such provisions for the preservation of life and risk mitigation on the occasion of the health emergency generated by COVID-19, during this end of the year.

The decision is made following the line issued by the Ministry of the Interior. It should be noted that in the metropolitan area of ​​Bucaramanga, the occupation of beds in Intensive Care Units is close to 75%.

According to the Mayor, “in the Santander capital Christmas will be with the family, safe and above all, very quiet for all citizens. It is intended that people be judicious and stay in their homes during the most neuralgic time slots of December in terms of congregations and accidents; that is, the night of the 24th, the dawn of the 25th and the night of December 31st, also including January 1st.

“Voluntary self-isolation at home, hand hygiene, physical distancing and the use of face masks, among other actions, are vital to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus,” argued the President.

It should be remembered that the pilot plans adopted for commercial establishments such as bars and restaurants are also suspended on December 25 and January 1.

Also, from now on bars and restaurants will not be able to sell liquor after 10:00 pm

The curfew from Thursday to Sunday, not counting the aforementioned days (December 24, 25, 31 and January 1), runs from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am

Those who are unaware, fail to comply, disregard and violate the provisions provided, will be credited with the corrective measures provided for in Law 1801 of 2016, without prejudice to incurring other criminal and pecuniary sanctions, for the punishable behaviors of violation of sanitary measures, contemplated in article 368 of Law 599 of 2000 – Penal Code, National Decree 780 of 2016 and other current regulations.
