According to the Spanish health authorities, there are four confirmed cases of the new strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19
discovered in the United Kingdom, of which three belong to the same family.

“And there are currently three other suspects in the virus genome, the result of which will be available in the coming days,” said Antonio Zapatero, vice president of Public Health in Madrid.

They believe that the variant came to this country by people traveling from Great Britain.

“The detected cases of the British strain arrived through the Madrid-Barajas airport. Sometimes you have to remember and remember that we have been emphasizing the importance of controlling the airport during the last six months,” said Enrique Ruiz Escudero, health chief of the Madrid region.

This mutation of the virus, which experts say is more contagious, prompted fifty countries to impose travel restrictions from the UK.

In China, specifically in Beijing, the authorities ordered not to leave the city or hold large meetings, after confirming six new cases that they fear are related to the new strain.

Hong Kong banned those who have visited South Africa in the last three weeks from entering its territory, as they identified a virus mutation in this country that would be related to the increase in infections.

“The variant is more contagious. It means that it will take every opportunity to spread out in the community. So we need to be more vigilant,” said Jeffrey Mphahlele, a member of the South African Medical Research Council.

France, Italy, Denmark, Belgium and Germany These are five of the eight countries to which, according to the World Health Organization, the new strain of the virus has already arrived.
