Last Thursday, the station’s panelist announced that his father, Carlos Linero, 84 years old, is admitted to intensive care, connected to a mechanical ventilator, in a private clinic in Santa Marta due to a complication in his health. According to Linero himself, his father, at this moment he is fighting for his life.

In an interview with the newspaper El Tiempo, Linero reiterated that his admission to the medical center was not the result of having contracted covid-19. “My dad is a delicate product of a diabetes that got complicated and caused him multisystematic damage.”The retired father told the media.

In his speech on Blu Radio, Linero also reported that precisely because of the restrictions that have been established by the coronavirus, at the moment neither he nor his family have been able to visit him at the clinic, faced with which he regretted, since he expressed that at this moment what they most want is to be able to accompany him in this situation.

“He is alone, without any of us who love him and who would like to accompany him. His battle is not only against the pain that is always personal and non-transferable, but against the fact that we cannot be giving him the strength that the presence full of love generates.”, Expressed in the Linero station.

Linero said that in the midst of this situation, he and his family had to make one of the most difficult decisions that have been made so far.

“In these days that we had to make the decision about intubating him or not, we realized that we had never discussed that issue with him, that we did not know what he would want at that time.”Linero explained.

Therefore, by way of advice, he told listeners that it is important to talk with families about any type of scenario, to know how to act in these “tough and complex situations”, and according to him, it is much more important to express to them how important they are in our lives, to know how much they love them.

“We must not spare expressions, attitudes and actions of affection that make them understand everything we feel for them. The time will come when we want to make him feel, but it will not be possible.“Linero said.

In his interview with El Tiempo, the ‘father’ indicated that this Friday he arrived in the city of Santa Marta to be aware of his father’s state of health, since not being able to be present was what worried him most, and although not You will be able to see him due to sanitary restrictions, Linero said that being with his siblings and family is comforting.

And according to him and his family, Although their father’s chances of life are very few, they have decided to continue the battle until the last moment.

“We are living a very hard time, but we face it together and with great faith.Linero said.
