However, this Monday he gave unexpected news for many through decree 055 of 2021, in which it is mentioned that Gastrobars will not be able to function “until the epidemiological conditions are in place necessary defined by the District Secretary of Health ”.
The decision of the capital authorities is that bars and gastrobars are commercial establishments whose main economic activity It consists of the sale to the public with or without table service of alcoholic beverages for consumption within them.
“Bars and gastrobars will not be authorized to operate”, maintains the decree published by the Mayor’s Office on its website.
The document confirms that the only ones authorized in Bogotá to serve customers at their facilities and do so until midnight are restaurants. It should be remembered that the rest of the commercial establishments of the city can only open their doors until 11:00 pm
The decree established as follows which are the authorized establishments to continue with its operation:
“The gastronomic establishments authorized to operate and exceptionally sell intoxicating beverages as a complement to main dishes served at the table are those whose sole or main activity is one of the following activities:
- Sales to the table of prepared meals.
- Self-service sale of prepared meals.
- Sale of meals prepared in cafeteria.
- Other types of sale of prepared meals ”.
At the moment, the Mayor’s Office has not ruled on this decision that surprised more than one.
