The violent incident occurred in the early morning of this Wednesday in the village of Tapartó, where the shots were heard.
The authorities confirmed that there were six people on the farm: five died immediately, while the sixth victim of the massacre was transferred to a medical center in the area.
Regarding the surviving collector, Caracol Radio indicated that “he is in a critical state of health.”
While the information from the perpetrators of the multiple homicide shows that they were “six armed men, dressed in dark clothing and hooded”, who attacked their victims with bladed weapons and firearms.
The station also added that the Police and the Army traveled to the rural area, in the southeast of Antioquia to carry out the respective investigations.
For now, the authorities have not identified the perpetrators or the motives for the attack.
The ‘Clan del Golfo’ operates in the sector, the largest drug gang in the country, made up of remnants of paramilitary groups that waged a fight to the death with the guerrillas until the first decade of the century.
According to the Indepaz observatory, 21 of the 91 massacres registered in 2020 occurred in Antioquia. This year there are at least 12 massacres in the country, four in that area. These attacks are characterized by the murder of at least three people in the same action.
5 coffee pickers killed in 2020
Last November, five coffee pickers were killed in an attack on a farm in the municipality of Betania, some 30 kilometers from the Andes.
According to authorities, the attack was the result of a fight between groups that sell drugs at retail among agricultural workers.
The group of adolescents was massacred, in August 2020, in a farm in the Bajo Cañaveral village of the Andes municipalityreported Blu Radio.
Young were identified such as Arlex James Rodríguez Mora, 27, Gilberto Alejandro Potes Valois, 19, and a child under 14 years of age.
According to the authorities, the youths were attacked by armed men who allegedly came shooting everyone.
