Falcao García started the 2020/2021 season with the best of his scoring nose. The ‘Tigre’ is hungry for glory in Turkey and showed his claws twice, to give Galatasaray a 3-1 victory over Gaziantep FK, on the first date of the Super League.
At minute 8, and from a penalty, Falcao scored his team’s first goal. And at 40, as a ‘9’ from the area, he scored his second goal (3-0 at that time). Thus, he made it clear that he wants revenge with the Istanbul team, since he could not be champion in the previous campaign.
It is the sixth time that Falcao has opened the league season with a goal, since he arrived in football in Europe eleven years ago. Precisely in his first campaign, 2009/2010, ‘Tigre’ made his debut with Porto scoring against Paços Ferreira.
The second time Radamel started the season with a clean goal was in 2013, making his Monaco debut against Bordeaux.
In 2014, after recovering from the injury that left him without a World Cup, Falcao returned with a goal on the first date of Ligue 1 2014/2015 in the loss to Lorient. In 2017, at Monaco 3-Toulouse 2, as well as in 2018 –Nantes 1-3 Monaco–, the ‘Tigre’ added new league starts scoring a goal in each game.
Thus, this Saturday, September 12, Falcao had a historical record in his stay in Europe. It is the first time, of the six that he has made his debut with a goal at the start of the season, that he has scored two goals in his first game of the campaign. Roars the ‘Tiger’!
