The ceremony for the 72nd version of the Emmy Awards, which honor the best of TV in the United States will go down in history as the awards that did not have a red carpet and that bet with technology to maintain social distancing and care due to the pandemic that is hitting the world.

A whole technical and logistical challenge was to carry the television transmission of the show, which this year was hosted by Jmmy Kimmel, who was accompanied by only a few guests to the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The winners received the statuette at their homes.

The gala was simple and had an informal air, far from the glamor of other times, but the absence of that emotion was felt from the fans who previously accompanied the artists upon their arrival at the ceremony site.

Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel at one point during the ceremony.

Professional recording equipment that was installed in the places where the nominees were. It was a gala of screens, with little applause and with Kimmel trying to give rhythm to the matter.

Catherine O’Hara, from the series ‘Schitt’s Creek’, received the award for best actress in a comedy. While in the category of best actor of the same genre the award went to Eugene Levy also for ‘Schitt’s Creek’, a series she created with her son Daniel.

He also won the best comedy director and supporting actor, while Annie Murphy, won the guest star award. It was really one of the productions that he starred in on the night of the Emmy, as he won the best comedy.

“It is ironic that the most complex role of my career won best comedy”said the actor a little jokingly. Then he had to applaud Daniel, who got the best comedy script for the same series.
