A total of 39 private institutions, including gardens, colleges, technical institutes and universities, already have endorsement to resume face-to-face classes in Bogotá.

These authorizations were granted by the Ministry of Health, after verifying compliance with biosafety regulations and, of course, prior registration in the platform created for this purpose.

It is striking that, with cut to September 21, there are more gardens and colleges than universities interested in returning to the classroom.

According to the report of the district Education portfolio, 49 gardens and schools are interested in resuming face-to-face classes. Of the total, 33 successfully completed the process, but, so far, 17 have received authorization to return to the classroom at any time they wish. Only eight failed and must repeat the procedure.

Just yesterday, 10 Social Integration gardens – which do not depend on Education – began the gradual reopening. They are in Kennedy, Chapinero, Ciudad Bolívar, Bosa, Barrios Unidos and Rafael Uribe Uribe.

Regarding higher education institutions, 39 requested authorization, of which 26 passed the process, and 17 of them have already received endorsement. Five did not pass. Of the so-called educational institutions for work and human development, only five of 70 registered have received authorization. Four were denied the request.

In total, 158 private institutions have been registered, and 69 of them have successfully completed the process, although, to date, 19 have received approval.

According to the Ministry of Education, the beginning of face-to-face classes must be by agreement between teachers and parents. However, no decision has been made regarding public schools.

To that end, the entity conducts a survey with the educational community, in which it asks them if they want to return to the classroom, and if so, how they think it should be.

Those interested in participating must enter the registration platform. There you will find the option ‘Consultation and participation of official schools’. The poll will close on September 30.

Registration for back to school must be done on the ‘Gradual, progressive and safe reopening’ platform. There are the options for gardens and colleges, institutions of higher education and institutes.
