The health emergency decree expired on February 28, for this reason, President Iván Duque, in his Prevention and Action program, announced this Thursday that the measure would be extended until May 31.
This, taking into account that, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the causes for which this measure was imposed last year still persist in the national territory.
“It’s three more months. The world declaration of a pandemic is still in force and most countries maintain emergency measures, ”said the Colombian president.
Likewise, he stated that with this extension of the measure that ended on February 28, a decree will be issued that also seeks to extend public order measures, work that will be carried out by the Ministry of the Interior. Duque clarified that these measures will be consistent with the gradual economic opening that has been taking place in the country.
