Curfew and Prohibition in Soledad for Halloween

The Mayor of Soledad, Rodolfo Ucrós Rosales, decreed a curfew and dry law during the Halloween weekend, given the risk of promoting spaces and celebrations that could generate crowds and thereby enhance the transmissibility of Covid-19 in the town.

The president indicated that he issued the measure in compliance with the recommendations established in the External Joint Circular issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of the Interior, the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) and the Presidential Council for children, and in attention to the Government of the Atlantic.

He explained that the decree applies on October 30, 31 and November 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. During this period, the free movement of vehicles, residents, residents and citizens is temporarily prohibited, and the consumption, sale and sale of intoxicating or alcoholic beverages in open spaces and commercial establishments in the municipality is also restricted.

“The most important thing is to protect our inhabitants and guarantee that during these days, in which the Halloween party is celebrated, social activities are not promoted with crowds that trigger contagion in our municipality and that the children’s party is held in the homes and not, as is traditionally commemorated, in the streets and asking for sweets. “, said the president.

Ucrós Rosales assured that the issuance of decree 465 of 2020 had the prior approval of the Ministry of the Interior.

Likewise, the mayor urged shopping centers and establishments open to the public to comply with the measures established in the resolutions, and additionally refrain from developing or encouraging the convocation of boys and girls or minors, to events that generate crowds, related to the celebration of Halloween parties.

Likewise, he delivered several recommendations to the inhabitants of the municipality of Soledad such as: maintaining physical distance at all times, constantly washing hands, wearing a mask, celebrating Halloween at home with the direct family nucleus residing in the house and not doing rounds on the streets to ask for sweets.

For his part, Rosmell Hernández, Soledad’s Secretary of the Government, indicated that the decision was made in a “preventive manner” to safeguard the integrity and life of the children in the middle of the Halloween celebration.

“Soledad has not come out of this pandemic and we are making every effort to avoid a new massive contagion in the municipality. We want to prevent parties in the neighborhoods and these are the mechanisms for this purpose, “he added, in turn indicating that special operations will be developed to verify compliance.
