The curfew and prohibition times were adjusted due to the increase in cases of covid-19. The measures will take effect from December 31 at 9:00 pm until 12 noon on January 3.
This was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, who said that this adjustment is also due to the shortage of drugs in the ICU beds in the city.
“In the world there is a shortage of muscle relaxants and sedatives, necessary for intensive care units. However, the Ministry of Health informed us that a significant shipment of these drugs will arrive in the country in the coming days,” he said.
On the other hand, the president pointed out that, after the Extraordinary Security Council, in which members of his cabinet, the Army, the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office were present, other measures were established to stop the advance of the pandemic in the city.
“Cali has been advancing measures such as curfew, dry law and peak and ID to stop contagions, but since these have not had the expected effect, we are forced to deepen them,” he said.
