Covid: Pediatric units in Cali are collapsed

According to María Cristina Lesmes, Secretary of Health in Valle del Cauca, most of the boys and girls have gastrointestinal symptoms.

In this situation, the authorities insist with the call to self-care due to the increase in cases and mortality of the coronavirus, since in three clinics in Cali, the Intensive Care Units (ICU) reached the occupancy limit.

It is worth mentioning that in Valle del Cauca more than 600 cases of covid-19 are being registered on average daily, in addition to 20 deaths.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, decreed the dry law and curfew in the city, in order to avoid a collapse in health services, because the Intensive Care Units are 90% occupied by covid-19 and other diseases, due to the disobedience of many citizens who do not comply with biosecurity measures.

The official indicated that he will evaluate the behavior of the people of Cali in the coming days and that depending on the results, the restrictions will be lifted or intensified for the remainder of the year.

The Cali Ministry of Health determined that during this time cosmetic surgical procedures were postponed and not urgent, due to the level of occupation of the healthcare centers.
