COVID-19 infections are soaring in Cartagena. With the arrival of the end of the year, people have “relaxed” with biosecurity measures and conglomerations are the “feast” of each day, raising the risk of the spread of the disease caused by the coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health reported this Saturday, December 19, that in the last 24 hours, 750 people were identified in this city as newly infected with SARS-CoC 2, which updates the figure at 37,844 patients.
The health authorities also reported the death of 4 people, two women and two men. One of the women was 51 years old and her comorbidities are being studied, while the other was an 83-year-old woman who suffered from hypertension, COPD and kidney failure. One of the men was 72 years old and his medical history is also a matter of study, the other, 59 years old, suffered from cirrhosis.
The death toll then stands at 707.

For the rest of Bolívar, the Ministry reported 43 new cases, bringing the number of COVID patients in the department to 7,740.
In Magangué, an 83-year-old woman died, who also suffered from cardiovascular diseases.
