For the moment, three dragoneantes have been confirmed with the virus and they are asymptomatic and isolated at home. The rest of the nearly 30 officials tested negative, Díaz says.
The first versions indicate that the outbreak could have been started more than a month ago by a dragoneante who consulted with his daughter in the Leticia Clinic for emergencies, where he was treated by a doctor who later tested positive. The guard returned to jail without symptoms and had close contact with other colleagues.
“The establishment does not have the infrastructure to isolate any inmate and the overcrowding that we have is a risk for everyone. The general direction of the Inpec and the Unit of Public Penitentiary Services delivered us, through the ARL, the elements of personal protection to the officials. The protection supplies for the inmates were given by donations and are about to run out ”, relates.
