Corferias reported that the Centro Oriente ESE Integrated Health Service Subnet, operator of the Temporary Transitional Hospital, delivered the facilities, which were used to attend to people with emergencies other than the coronavirus, so that hospitals would give priority to patients infected with the pandemic.

According to the Secretary of Health of Bogotá, cited by Blu Radio, in those facilities 515 people were attended and it never reached 100% occupancy.

Alejandro Gómez, Secretary of Health of the District, indicated in the station that an internal audit is being carried out on the settlement of the contract to confirm to citizens that “Not a single peso was lost”, and that no extra cost was paid.

The news comes a day after the Claudia López mayor’s office announced that it was going to redistribute the ICU beds destined for coronavirus cases, in order to be used for other diseases.

That decision was made after the occupancy of the intensive care stretchers lowered their occupancy to less than 50%, after having reached 90%, as the following District trill says:

That does not mean that the pandemic has disappeared from Bogotá. On the contrary, according to the authorities, a second peak is expected in November, taking into account that more and more people are on the streets.

However, it seems that the second outbreak, which is already taking place in countries such as Canada, Spain and France, will not have the same intensity as the first.

With the closure of the temporary hospital in Corferias, this event center is preparing to reactivate economically from November.
