The president of the FARC party Rodrigo Londoño Echeverry, known in his war years as Timochenko, top leader of the extinct FARC guerrilla, was admitted this Friday morning at the Sagrada Familia clinic in Armenia, after severe pain in the chest.
According to the medical examination that was carried out at 6:26 in the morning of this Friday, October 30, Londoño said he had felt pain in his chest for a week, which had intensified in the last hours, so who went to the clinic in the capital of Quindío.
The former Colombian guerrilla chief went to the clinic with his wife, who said that the pain had worsened in the early hours of this Friday so they went to the hospital. Rodrigo Londoño has been suffering from heart problems, so he has had other interventions previously.
He was immediately treated by the medical doctors, who supplied him with the necessary medications and the required tests. Londoño remains in this clinic awaiting further tests, but his health is stable, according to spokespersons for the entity told EL QUINDIANO.
Relatives of Londoño Echeverry in Armenia told EL QUINDIANO that the leader of the Colombian left was awaiting an examination and had stated that he would have it done in Armenia or Pereira, specifically a medical check-up to check his heart disease, and if it was necessary to undergo a catheterization.
Spokesmen for the clinic indicated that it is very possible that Rodrigo Londoño will be transferred in the next few hours to a more complex regional clinic, possibly to the city of Pereira.
