In an unprecedented ceremony, performed virtually and in person, the twenty-first installment of the Latin Grammy was held.
The night began with a tribute to Héctor Lavoe, starring Ricardo Montaner, Víctor Manuelle, Jesús Navarro (Reik), Ivy Queen and Raw Alejandro.
The first Colombian artists to pick up gramophones on the day were Carlos Vives, Fonseca, Andrés Cepeda, Jorge Celedón & Sergio Luis Rodríguez, Alex Campos, Carlos Fernando López, Grupo Niche and Andrés Torres together with Mauricio Rengifo.
The first recognition of the premiere had a Colombian stamp. In the Best Christian Album category, Bogota’s Alex Campos won the Grammy thanks to his production entitled Soldados. With the award received in this edition, he adds five to his career.

The second gramophone arrived in the country by the hand of Carlos Fernando López and José Valentino in the category of Best Contemporary Classical Work / Composition for the production Sacre.
The next winners were Fonseca and Andrés Cepeda for their album Compadres, in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category. This shared gramophone adds three to the career of the interpreter of Day after day and seven to the singer-songwriter of Prometo.
At the premiere, Carlos Vives received several gramophones from the gala. The first was awarded for Best Contemporary Album / Tropical Fusion for Cumbiana, and the second for Best Long Version Video for The Lost World of Cumbiana.
In the central gala, the samarium took the Grammy in the category Best Tropical Song with Song for Rubén, a song that is also part of Cumbiana.
“Let’s unite this message from Cumbiana with everything that happens in San Andrés y Providencia,” said the singer-songwriter Samarius.
Grupo Niche received an award for album 40, while Jorge Celedón and Sergio Luis Rodríguez they won the Latin Grammy in the category Best Cumbia / Vallenato Album for Sigo cantando al amor (Deluxe).
“I am very excited, thank God for this new Grammy, thank the Academy and to the lovers of vallenata music for supporting us in this race”, Expressed Celedón who also has five gramophones.
Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo were awarded Producer of the Year.
J Balvin received the Grammy in the category Best Urban Music Album for Colors. In his speech of gratitude, he sent a message of solidarity to San Andrés and Providencia, which in recent days suffered the onslaught of Hurricane Iota.
El paisa had a presentation on the main stage of the event.

Mike Bahía won in the Best New Artist category. The interpreter of Buscándote thanked Greeicy Rendón, his girlfriend, for having “changed his way of seeing life”.
