The scene, which may seem frequent to millions of people in the world, turned out to be ‘the first step’ for many Cameroonians. Climbing an escalator was something unprecedented for them.
The Great Douala Mall It was the first megastore to put up these stairs in the African country and the expectation was all the rage. Videos shown on social networks showed the endless lines to be part of the event.
Once inside, the attendees saw the stairs and several did not know how to use them. Some fell, others clung tightly to the edges of the ladder, others went the wrong way, and surely many avoided using them.
