Cali will once again have a curfew and dry law extended this holiday weekend, as announced by Mayor Jorge Iván Ospina. The measures will begin on Friday, January 8 at 9:00 pm and will be extended until noon on Monday, January 11.

In addition, the curfew is maintained during the week from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day. As for the dry law, it was confirmed that it will start at 10:00 pm and goes until 5:00 am

The measure of the peak and cedula, which seeks to avoid crowds in commercial establishments and banking entities will continue, apparently, it will continue with the same rotation that has been handled.

Mayor Ospina indicated that although in the first weeks of each year there is no peak and plaque, by 2021 there will be, with the aim of reducing the mobilization of people in the streets.

Although the rotation that there will be for this year has not yet been established, in decree 4112.010.20.2130 of 2020, issued by the Municipal Administration, it was made clear that from Monday, January 4 to Friday, January 8, 2021, the measured with the same rotation that comes from the last semester of 2020.

That is, the peak and plate remains in force from January 4 to January 8 as follows:

– Monday: 3 and 4
– Tuesday: 5 and 6
– Wednesday: 7 and 8
– Thursday: 9 and 0
– Friday: 1 and 2

Exceptions

The president of the Caleños indicated that there are exceptions for all supermarkets, pharmacies and essential supply establishments.

I mean, all those places will be open on curfew days. But remember, you can only access them according to the peak and ID.

The president indicated that in addition to the usual exceptions for health personnel, essential public works officials, among others, those who work with digital home platforms may also circulate.

Occupancy of ICU beds in Cali is 94%

The situation in the intensive care units in Cali is becoming more complex every day, since patients who require beds must wait between four and six hours to be assigned one.

Miyerlandi Torres, Secretary of Health of Cali, pointed out that, according to the latest reports from the Valley Emergency Regulatory Center, CRUE, on average there are 467 patients hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, ICU.

“The occupancy level of ICU beds for patients with covid-19 is already 94% and in general, counting all pathologies, we have between 92 and 94%,” he said.

In addition, María Cristina Lesmes, Departmental Health Secretary, announced that this Sunday the highest number of people in the ICU was registered by covid-19 in 10 months of the pandemic.

According to what the official published on her Facebook account, 599 people are admitted to Intensive Care Units for complications derived from covid-19.

“Today, January 3, 2021 is the day with the highest number of Covid 19 patients in the ICU, during the 10 months of the pandemic. 599 people today are fighting for life accompanied by the medical corps. Please stay home. We make great efforts to open new beds. It is not easy, “he wrote.

It should be mentioned that in Valle del Cauca 590 new cases of covid-19 were registered this Sunday, which raised the total number to 140,303 infections since the arrival of the virus in the region.

As for deaths, the department has already reported 4,342 deaths from diseases associated with the virus.
