In the followers of Colombian women’s soccer, it was quite upsetting to see that the classic between Millonarios and Santa Fe last week was played in the municipality of Mosquera, on a court that was in very poor condition for a professional game.

Several players in the country complained that the Bogota teams had no choice but to play in that municipality of Cundinamarca because the rental of the El Campín stadium was just as expensive as for the men’s league matches.

The Bogotá mayor’s office addressed the claim of the athletes and this Monday confirmed that, from now on, Bogota women’s soccer teams will be able to use the capital’s stadium without having to pay a single peso of rent.

The District Institute for Recreation and Sports (IDRD) will assume the usual costs arising from the operation of the sports scene, which fans cannot yet attend due to the health emergency that the country is experiencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The women’s league has been going on normally for two weeks and its first three days have already taken place. From now until the end of the year, the country’s soccer players will have action on the field, looking for the champion team of the fourth edition of the tournament.

This is how the IDRD gave the good news that the protagonists and followers of women’s football expected in the country’s capital:
