Bars and discotheques of the Valley will continue in opening pilots

The President of the Republic, Iván Duque, confirmed on Monday night that the bars and discos that are within the reopening plans will continue in this way during the coming weeks, this due to the versions of users in social networks that They ask that these establishments close due to the increase in positive cases of covid-19.

The clarification is given due to the issuance of Decree 1550 of November 28, 2020, by means of which the validity of Decree 1168 of August 25, 2020 is extended.

The new Decree extends the previous one until January 16, 2021.

As a result of this, in some media and social networks it was stated that bars and discos would stop working as of December 1.

However, Manuel Pineda, president of Asobares Chapter Valle, affirmed that those establishments that have adopted all the guidelines and biosafety protocols established by the Ministry of Health will continue to function as they have been doing so far.

“The Decree basically what it does is expand the selective isolation. For the night entertainment sector the same measures continue,” he said.

It should be noted that thanks to this Decree, issued by the Ministry of the Interior this November 28, (By which instructions are given under the health emergency generated by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, and the maintenance of public order and decrees selective isolation with responsible individual distancing), in any municipality of the national territory, the following spaces or face-to-face activities may be enabled:

– Events of a public or private nature that involve an agglomeration of people, in accordance with the provisions and protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

– Discotheques and dance venues.

– The consumption of intoxicating beverages in public spaces and commercial establishments. The sale of intoxicating beverages is not prohibited.

These measures seek to mitigate the effects of viruses and prevent the increase in cases, which only in the Valley has left 3,494 deaths and 108,058 people infected with the new coronavirus.

In addition, this Decree establishes that the mayors may request the Ministry of the Interior authorization for the implementation of pilot plans in establishments and commercial premises that provide restaurant or bar services, for the consumption of intoxicating beverages within the establishment or premises.
