María, who lives in a residence for the elderly in the town of Olot, in Girona, gave a negative result in the last test they carried out on Monday and had a “wonderful” recovery because she is “a strong and positive woman,” explained her daughter Rosa to the journalists.

Of Spanish parents, he was born in 1907 in San Francisco (United States), where his father worked, and returned to Spain at the age of eight.

On March 4, shortly before falling ill, she turned 113, and that was the last day she was able to see her family.

During her isolation, life changed little for her, but she was very “bored”, says Rosa, who assures that Maria is well “with the small inconveniences that everyone can have” despite her age, and appreciates the treatment that They have given him the professionals of the residence.

The oldest woman in Spain says that her secret is “to be in good health”, since she never smoked, but she also did no more sport than walking with her friends.

Maria married in 1931, had three children, and now has eleven grandchildren (one of whom is already sixty years old) and thirteen great-grandchildren. Her family is looking forward to all this to be able to visit her again. In addition to her, two other elderly women, 101 and 107 years old, have recovered from Covid-19 in Spain.
