The Secretary of Economic Development of Cali, Argemiro Cortés, suffered from covid-19, as revealed by Mayor Jorge Iván Ospina.

The official was isolated between September 4 and 28, but the virus was confirmed only this Friday, October 2, during a public event.

“I invite the secretary Argemiro Cortés, overcoming the covid, I congratulate him, he has made a covid lipo”said Mayor Ospina during the signing of the document in which the Sociedad de Activos Especiales SAE handed over to the Mayor’s Office five properties that were formerly owned, which will now be used for public works projects and housing construction.

El País confirmed his recovery with the official, who has already resumed his work outside the home.

He said that he remained isolated, working from his home and indicated that no other officials of his Secretariat were affected, since he was infected in his home.

Due to this context, other people in his family were affected and one of his daughters needed hospitalization.

Health authorities have warned of the progressive increase in covid-19 cases in the city and the department, although no increases in the occupancy of beds in Intensive Care Units have yet been reported.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Cali accumulates 47,829 cases of covid-19, and 1,642 people have lost their lives due to the virus in the capital of the Valley.
