(CNN) –– The experimental antibody treatment that President Donald Trump received to deal with COVID-19 last week could have affected the blood test that shows he has antibodies to the virus, Regeneron told CNN. This is precisely the pharmacist that performs the treatment.
Hours earlier, the president’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, released a memo Wednesday on Trump’s health. The report indicated that Trump had antibodies to covid-19 in his blood since Monday.
“The President’s lab tests showed detectable levels of IgG antibodies to SARS-Cov-2 from tests taken on Monday, October 5; baseline IgG levels extracted Thursday night were undetectable, ”the paper said.
Trump received a single infusion Friday of Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody treatment. The company said the IgG antibody test would have detected the engineered antibodies that were administered to Trump.
Those antibodies, laboratory versions of immune system proteins designed to target specific parts of the coronavirus, would remain detectable in your system for several months.
