Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, reported on the night of this Sunday, January 24, that he tested positive for covid-19.

“I regret to inform you that I am infected with covid-19. The symptoms are mild but I am already under medical treatment. As always, I am optimistic. We will all move forward. Dr. Olga Sánchez Cordero will represent me in the morning to report how we do it every day, “said the president.

López Obrador said that he will be attentive to the country’s affairs from the National Palace.

“For example, tomorrow I will take a call with President Vladimir Putin because, regardless of friendly relations, there is a possibility that the Sputnik V vaccine will be sent to us“he added.

This same Sunday, López Obrador participated in the inauguration of a National Guard facilities in the state of San Luis Potosí together with the state governor, Juan Manuel Carreras, and the secretaries of Security, Rosa Icela Rodríguez; from the Navy, Rafael Ojeda; and of the National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval.

The Mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, who has already passed the covid-19, was convinced that López Obrador will come out “well” thanks to his “strength, conviction and love for life”.
