The peak event with which it occurs opening to the Cali Fair, will have a unprecedented and atypical show on account of the covid-19 pandemic. The Salsódromo this year, was held at the People’s Coliseum, where the recording was made and its transmission will be from 8:40 at night.
In the show, called ‘Maestra Vida’, 1,500 dancers from the most outstanding salsa schools of the city participated, under the coordination of Luis Eduardo Hernández, ‘El mulato’, who They will dance to rhythms such as salsa choke, timba, pachanga, guaracha and boogalooAlso, for the first time in history, the Antorcha orchestra, made up of people with disabilities, will participate.

“We have designed a show that allows the greatest possible inclusion. This year it will go from 1,150 dancers to 1,500, in addition there will not be 31 dance schools as has been traditional, but 51, we will have a group of children, the old guard and dancers. The Salsodromo was built in about 15 days. They were arduous nights of recording, with a lot of love, with a majestic stage, where different rhythms will be integrated ”, indicated, Alexander Zuluaga, manager of CorfeCali.
The Salsódromo will be broadcast free of charge on the Telepacífico channel, on the social networks of the Cali Fair and through all regional channels in the country.

“Those who judge the Cali Fair this year, do not know the tragedy of 1956, which allowed the origin of this traditional event, today turned into a whole cultural industry. Cali is known throughout the world for salsa and its dancers. Cali has to look at itself with love ”, commented teacher Yuri Buenaventura, who will be the artist who closes this event.
Along with maestro Buenaventura, the Caliber Orchestra and the Antorcha Orchestra will also perform, made up of 13 people with disabilities, who during the 15 years have recorded: a single with the CM label called ‘Siento que te amo’.

As part of the program, there will be a staging with five acts that symbolize the pre-pandemic, isolation, resilience, coming out with reinvention; and Cali and its Fair with joy, civility and responsibility.
This year we will be able to see a Salsódromo never before made in Cali. The show It went from being a parade in the traditional Calle de la Feria, to become a high-quality television show, with a large assembly, which guarantees biosecure spaces for artists.
