A wife’s joke goes viral on Facebook

(CNN) – Sharea Overman and her husband Nate are the parents of three young children, and like many parents (let’s face it, everyone), they find themselves constantly tired.

So when the family of five decided to take a road trip through Indiana to visit relatives, Sharea wasn’t surprised to see her husband reclining comfortably in the driver’s seat. She wasn’t sleeping, but it seemed like she was.

However, after a while, Sharea looked at her husband, took a picture and thought, “Man, it really looks like he’s passed out in the driver’s seat.”

Sharea, a part-time photographer, decided to spend time in the car pulling a funny prank on her husband.

“I am part of this group of incredibly talented photographers on Facebook. So I decided to post the photo and asked people to photoshop some fun backgrounds on the photo. To make it look like he fell asleep while all this crazy stuff was going on.

But as the orders began to arrive, Sharea couldn’t contain her laughter and eventually had to show her husband what she was doing on her phone.

“He thought it was very funny. We had a great life and a great rest of the car trip, and that was it.

They thought so.

Joy for many people in the world

A few days later, the joke had gone viral.

“I started receiving messages from people in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska … sending me their retouched pictures of my husband.”

Turns out, people really need a good laugh right now.

“There are people who have broken down and told us how difficult this year has been for them and that this is the first time they have been able to really laugh at something,” Overman told CNN. «It humbles me because what started as something so silly has become all of this. We are putting smiles on faces we don’t even know.

Almost three weeks and 300,000 Facebook “shares” later, people still like and comment on the post, and they keep sending their retouched images to Sharea.

«He has gathered so many people. Of all the world. It’s crazy.
