The face-to-face session that took place this Thursday in the Plenary of the House of Representatives had to be adjourned, after the liberal congressman Alejandro Carlos Chacón confirmed that he has covid-19.
The alert was lit after it was learned that representative Chacón attended the face-to-face session on Wednesday night That was held, a debate in which, as confirmed by the Secretary of the Chamber, 169 people among congressmen and advisers were in different precincts of the National Capitol.
“Each and every one of the 169 representatives to the Chamber, including the secretariat staff and those who have to do with logistics, we must immediately locate ourselves in our residences and apartments, we cannot travel anywhere,” said the secretary of the corporation, Jorge Humberto Mantilla.

This measure is taken because the representatives, by their nature, come from different regions, so they normally travel weekly to their regions.
But after knowing the positive of congressman Chacón, the Secretary of Health of Bogotá determined that they will not be able to travel until the test is done and the result is known.
Until now the legislators had advanced in a system of blended sessions, in which a few congressmen attended the National Capitol and the vast majority did so remotely.
However, due to the fact that constitutional reforms were discussed this week, the Plenary had to return to face-to-face sessions.
