The mayors of Malambo, Candelaria and Galapa announced measures for the Day of the Dead, due to the health emergency that is experienced by Covid-19.
The mayor of Malambo, Rumenigge Monsalve, announced that since the beginning an inspection operation in the municipal cemetery, to guarantee the tranquility and security of the citizens in the holy field on the next holiday Monday.
The president explained that for this purpose the presence of the National Police and the Army will be a key point so that people can visit their loved ones on this date and avoid public order problems.
“We are already activating the logistics for this day, we will have the accompaniment of the public force to guarantee a good service to all citizens this day. We will be vigilant against the risk of having people consuming hallucinogenic substances and verifying compliance with biosecurity measures, ”said Monsalve.
Likewise, he stated that in conjunction with the company Dolmen SA, the lighting theme will be observed, so that the community feels comfortable and can circulate without any problem.
In the case of Galapa, the Mayor’s Office issued Decree 175 where it decrees a curfew for October 31 and entry into the municipal cemetery is prohibited on November 1 and 2.
The rule established that the schedule will be from 7:00 pm on October 31 to 5:00 am on November 1.
He indicated that the measures exempt people who provide assistance to the health service, the operation of establishments and premises whose corporate purpose consists of the commercialization of medicines, essential goods, which may be acquired through homes.
Activities related to emergency services, including veterinary emergencies, the activities of public services and state contractors, the activities of the Military Forces, the National Police and security agencies.
Regarding the prohibition to enter the cemetery, the Mayor’s Office said that Entry is only allowed for the provision of funeral services.
In the case of Candelaria, the Mayor’s Office presented progress of the improvements that the cemetery has had so that the community can get closer with greater comforts to visit the remains of their loved ones.
