Attention Manizales! This is how the curfew will govern during Halloween

Municipal administration made the decision to decree a curfew in the capital of Caldas, due to the peak of the pandemic that the city is going through. The measure seeks to prevent children and adults from generating crowds in the Halloween celebration next weekend.

Carlos Mario Marín, Mayor of Manizales, confirmed that minors will have a curfew from 12:00 pm on Friday to 5:00 am on Saturday. The measure will govern in the same way on Sunday and Monday, November 2, it will be from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am

On the other hand, Those of legal age will have a curfew from Friday to Monday, every day from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am Marín added that the measure will be accompanied by the prohibition of alcohol consumption on public roads.

“We take these measures after consulting with unions and members of the government and public health team. We consider that stronger measures are not necessary, because as the emergency is behaving, it is not necessary to close the city completely ”, added the local president.

Carlos Humberto Orozco, Secretary of Health of Manizales, assured that the decree seeks to avoid asymptomatic infections among minors.

“Behind the child are parents, uncles and grandparents and although they may not be infected, children do and carry the virus to where the population at risk is, which are the elderly. Of the 88 deceased that we have presented, 86 are older than 60 years, so we must watch over them as well, “said the secretary.

The official also made a call to the administrators of residential complexes so that they do not facilitate the provision of social lounges and that with this internal mobility can be restricted, since the decree does not have scope in the internal spaces.

“What we ask is that they implement it inside, because what we have seen in the city is that there are many infections between neighbors, in buildings, between families, because certain measures are not taken. An invitation to them to contribute to cutting this chain of infections, “added Orozco.

Diana Mejía Grand, Secretary of Government of Manizales, reminded citizens that lThe penalties for breaking the rule can reach up to $ 936,000.

“We invite you to respect and comply with this measure and thus avoid stricter closings on weekends,” Grand emphasized.

-Pet walks: According to the Secretary of Government, only one person from the family nucleus may pass their pets, when necessary and in a period of time that may not exceed 20 minutes in its “immediate environment”.

-Public force and private security workers: People who carry out activities in the private security sector will have a mobility permit, as well as members of the public force.

-Health personnel: Certified ambulances and medical personnel may also be mobilized during curfew.

Journalists, public employees and companies who carry out work activities in night shifts may also mobilize. Households can only operate until 11:00 pm

All the people who are within the exceptions will be able to leave as long as they carry their respective identification and certification of the work they are doing.

Furthermore, according to Grand, Those who want to enter the city must do so before or after curfew.

Other cities that decreed this measure during the next weekend are Bucaramanga and Ibagué. The department of Antioquia also decreed a curfew to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
