The Italian cyclist Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadier), current Champion of the World time trial, used his stripes to win the fourteenth stage of the 103rd edition of the Giro d’Italia, an individual time trial of 34.1 kilometers disputed this Saturday between the Italian towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

Ganna, who already won the first qualifying round of the Italian round, stopped the clock at 42 minutes and 40 seconds, a record that none of his 142 rivals was able to improve. Second, 26 seconds behind, was Australian Rohan Dennis (Ineos Grenadier), while third place was taken by American Brandon McNulty (UAE Emirates) 1 minute and 9 seconds behind Italian.

The Portuguese Joao Almeida (Deceuninck-Quick Step), who donned the pink jersey after finishing eleventh in the third stage, extended the advantage over his closest rivals after finishing sixth in the clock, 1 minute and 31 seconds behind Ganna.

The Giro d’Italia will continue this Sunday with the dispute of its fifteenth stage, with a mountainous profile and 185 kilometers, starting at the Rivolto Base Area and arriving in Piancavallo, the first category high finish.
