Cook pointed out that “Today is the beginning of a new era for iPhone” and specified that the smartphone will be “Superfast, advanced and secure” thanks to the 5G technology that worked hand in hand with Verizon to download information at 4.0 gigabytes per second. With this they promise to bring a new level of performance for downloads and uploads, as well as higher quality, more responsive games among other things.

With 5G networks, users will be able to play videos in 4k, also download and upload photos in the highest resolution and, also, play video games that require the device. According to what is presented by the Cupertino giant, there will be a large iPhone 12 and a mini one. The first will have a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display and the second, the world’s smallest 5G phone, a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR. “The great novelty of these new iPhone is that they are 11% thinner, 15% smaller and 16% lighter,” they added from Apple.

Likewise, these devices will have ‘Ceramic Shield’ with which they promise 4 times more resistance to falls. In terms of design, these iPhone will have flat aluminum edges similar to what can be seen in the most recent iPad Pro, on the other hand they will be even more resistant to water and splashes and can be submerged up to 6 meters.

The iPhone 12 will come in four different colors; white, black, green, red and blue, accompanied by the company’s latest chip, the A! 4 Bionic, the one that Apple indicates is the fastest in a smartphone. Both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini will incorporate two 12 mp cameras and night mode for both the rear and front cameras.

In terms of connectivity, the new iPhone will have a 5G connection, with an LTE connection of up to 2 Gbps.

There will also be iPhone 12 pro and iPhone 12 pro Max, both of which will feature 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR displays, the largest and most optimized displays ever, Cook said. Like the iPhone 12 and mini, it also has aluminum edges, ‘Ceramic Shield’ resistance and water resistance.

The Pro versions will be available in four colors; gold, silver, graphite and pacific blue color. Likewise, it has the A14 Bionic with which they assure that it is 50% faster than any other smartphone chip, being the first chip with 5 nm architecture in the industry.

As for the camera, the iPhone 12 Pro will have LiDAR technology, which measures an object by calculating the time it takes for light to reach an object and return, in order to create a depth map of the space in front of the user. Among the novelties of the cameras are three lenses, a main 12 mp, a 12 mp tele and a 12 Mp ultra-wide angle 120 °, with 4K recording at 60 fps with a new stabilization system.
