The Spanish Pedro ‘Perico’ Delgado won the Tour de France in 1988 and also won two titles in the Tour of Spain (1985 and 1989). Speaking to the program El Transistor, on Onda Cero, ‘Perico’ launched a lapidary phrase: “Nairo arrives like never before and fails like always.”
Delgado, however, acknowledged the problems that Quintana has experienced on this Tour: “It has been very decimated by the falls”, declared.
