On the afternoon of this Saturday there were moments of panic on the outskirts of Maicao, after the explosion of several vehicles loaded with fuel that left several people with considerable burns as a result.
It was established that the vehicles were in an area called Villa Naty, located on the old road that leads from Maicao to Uribia.
“Apparently they were manipulating the fuel and facts to establish the explosion was generated. So far there is talk of a dead person and several with serious burns, “said a source.
The injured, with serious burns, were transported by people from the sector on motorcycles to the San José de Maicao hospital.

Similarly, authorities from the National Police and different departments went to the scene to learn details of what happened. In addition, the Maicao Fire Department moved to the area to control the fire that caused an alarm throughout the border town.
Among the injured are people who know them under the pseudonyms of ‘Manguito biche’, ‘Chamata’ and a person known as Jonathan González.

Until now, the National Police has tried to establish what happened in this area called Villa Naty, a peripheral sector of Maicao.
“The wounded are in serious health, with serious burns and are being treated by the doctors at the San José de Maicao hospital,” said a source.
