As of September 1, 2020, private vehicles of public sector officials and contractors, as well as the vehicles of health sector workers, will no longer be exempt from the peak and plate measure.
While the vehicles of the special public land transport type automobile, camper and van with up to 5 seats will continue to be exempt from peak and plate during the duration of the health emergency.
Individuals, no changes
For private service vehicles and taxi-type vehicles there will be no modification, the peak and plate will continue with the normal rotation and at the same times that had been applied.
“It is important to clarify that the peak and plate for private vehicles and taxis is still in force as it has been operating throughout the city and that the only vehicles of public officials that will continue to be exempted from the measure are those whose plates are official,” said the Secretary of Mobility of Cali, William Vallejo.
The current peak and license plate for private cars is the one that came into force from July 1 and runs until December 31 of this year: on Monday the restriction is for vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4; Tuesday, 5 and 6; Wednesdays, 7 and 8; Thursday, 9 and 0; and Friday, 1 and 2.
The restriction applies between 6:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the morning and between 4:00 in the afternoon until 8:00 at night.
