The Electricaribe company assured that for the moment he will not comment on the recent power cuts in Santa Marta to patient homes that depend on oxygen to breathe and stay alive.
One of the cases is that of the doctor José Miguel Dau David, 93-year-old, who died after company workers cut the power to his home despite the fact that, according to his family, there is a disputed claim for overcharges.
Dau’s relatives recorded the moment when the operator arrived, and implored him not to cut the service: “Do you know that there is a man in there who is dying with a respirator?”, Is heard in the video.

“They were told to come in, to verify my father’s health situation, they didn’t feel like it, they cut the service, and they left,” wrote Karol Dau, his daughter, on August 28 on Twitter.
After service was shut off, the respirator stopped working and the man died in an intensive care unit.
