The measure covers departments such as Guainía, Vichada, Vaupés and San Andrés, and according to Julián Fernández, director in charge of Epidemiology and Demography of the Ministry of Health, “seeks to identify and filter those potentially infected from the place of origin.”

“It is a measure that seeks to delay the growth of the pandemic in these departments and protect the population of these regions,” said Fernández.

The antigen test must be negative and the result must not be more than 48 hours before boarding the plane. This will be carried out in the laboratories provided by the EPS and its cost will be assumed by the health system during the first 60 days. The authorization of the test will be done with the purchase of the ticket for the trip.

The results of the antigen test will be sent to CoronApp and given to each of the travelers to present at the time of boarding.

CoronApp installation by at least one member of the family or group will be mandatory for trips. There they will have to register the trip and present it at the airport.

At the airports of origin and destination there will also be temperature control and screening of passenger symptoms. In addition, if a passenger has symptoms before the flight, they will have to inform the EPS and the airline, and therefore, they will not be able to travel.

Those people who present symptoms and test positive in the places of destination, will have to comply with strict isolation in the places determined by the authorities of the region. The cost of isolation will be borne by each traveler.

In case of contagion, the airline will issue the ticket again for the date the person has completed their quarantine period.

These measures will be evaluated and adjusted according to the behavior of the pandemic in the country.
