Canada is looking for young people to work in its country, according to Ahmed Hussen, immigration minister.

The official explained, during the beginning of the establishment of an immigration program, that one million 80 thousand new permanent residents will be admitted from 2019 to 2021.

The country, since 2019, is looking for young people to help curb the high rates of aging that occur there. At the time, Hussen said that one of the purposes of the immigration program is “to maintain our workforce, support our economic growth and stimulate innovation.”

This initiative is part of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, which began to be promoted two years ago. The process is designed to attract young, skilled immigrants to four provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.

In turn, this project is joined by the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot which seeks to employ immigrants in small communities other than the Atlantic region, with the exception of Quebec. These include: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.

It is worth noting that, for this year, some modalities to go to Canada include specific documents in the face of the health emergency caused by covid-19 (negative PCR test, for example).

Candidates who are fluent in English and French have a greater chance. Also those who have a relative living in Canada or already have a job offer in the country.

The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled program is designed for candidates with specific high school education or job training. Students, business specialists, entrepreneurs, specialized or semi-skilled workers can apply.
