The other measure is the declaration of strict sectorized quarantine for six new towns. These are: Bosa, Ciudad Bolívar, Puente Aranda, Rafael Uribe Uribe, San Cristóbal and Usme. These areas, with about 3 million inhabitants, They will be in quarantine from 0 am on Monday January 18 until 11:59 pm on Thursday 28 of the same month.

These new measures are in addition to the quarantines sectored in Suba, Usaquén and Engativá -which end the confinement next Sunday at midnight-, Kennedy and Fontibón, which began the restriction yesterday and will remain so until Thursday 21st, and Teusaquillo -which if Well, the quarantine also began yesterday, it will end on Sunday, January 18, with the first group of towns. During the announcements, López called the attention of Bogota households and asked them not to hold any kind of extended family reunions (cousins, nephews, grandparents, uncles), but only with the narrow circle with which they live every day.

For his part, the Secretary of Health, Alejandro Gómez, pointed out that the second spike of contagion should pass this week. “If the last social event that generated greater risks and increased contagion was on December 31, we are in the week with the greatest demand for intensive care,” said the official.

Gomez also said that decisions are being made in the hospital network, in order to create space for patients who need an intensive care unit.
