Municipalities of the Valley will not have an extended curfew on the January holiday bridge

In the municipalities of the Valley there will be no curfew extended during the January holiday weekend, announced this Monday Governor Clara Luz Roldán and clarified that this determination excludes Cali and Buenaventura, which are special districts.

In a series of trills, the president of Valle del Cauca explained that she ruled out the measure “due to the reduction of contagions and fatality of covid-19” in most of the 40 localities.

He also said that the peak and ID are maintained, according to the decree, as well as the dry law that is in force until January 15, from 11:00 pm each day, until 5:00 am the following day.

The Governor pointed out that with these measures they seek to avoid more contagion of covid-19 in the Valley due to crowds and night parties, without stopping the economic reactivation of commerce in the municipalities.

He also insisted on “the individual responsibility that each citizen has in this pandemic, to prevent the spread of the virus.”

He affirmed that mayors may rely on epidemiological studies to decree restrictions that they consider necessary in each population and that these will be supported by the regional government.

Roldán will meet with the committee of experts created at the beginning of the health emergency in the Valley, the Secretary of Health and the coordinators of the hospital network, to evaluate the coronavirus figures after the holiday weekend and take new measures, in case that they are necessary.

In Cali, the extended curfew begins on January 8 at 9:00 pm and ends on January 11, at noon.
