This January 4, the members of the Cartagena Corrige Revocation Committee attended the headquarters of the National Registry of Civil Status in order to begin the process to revoke the mandate of Mayor William Dau, as announced in 2020.
In the first instance, Rodolfo Díaz Wright, former mayor and promoter of the initiative, appeared before Cartagena’s special registrant Harold Wilson and the city’s electoral coordinator, Óscar García, in order to present the six members of the citizen group at the head of the process to initiate legal matters and thus formally register the community.
“For biosecurity reasons, not all the members of the Committee came to bring the documentation. Today they gave us some forms in which we are going to consign the information to request the revocation. In the next few days the Registrar will call each of the committee members to sign the application. Today we formally begin the process and on January 12 we will register the Cartagena Corrige Committee ”, explained Díaz Wright.
Among the reasons why the committee seeks the revocation are the alleged breach of its government program, ‘disrespecting citizens’ and’ not providing solutions to the people of Cartagena in problems of the utmost importance such as health, poverty, corruption, education, infrastructure, etc. ‘.
