Bogota | Which towns are in quarantine – Bogotá

The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, had to take measures in light of the increase in covid-19 cases and the occupancy figures for ICU beds.

As of this January 3, there is an occupation of Intensive Care Units (ICU) for covid-19 of 76.5%. Of the 1,752 beds available for virus care, 1,340 are already occupied.

And, in the general ICU levels (adding covid-19 and other diseases), occupancy is 82.2%, an indicator that has not been seen since August. In total, of the 2,239 ICU beds in Bogotá, 1,855 are occupied.

In addition, there are 35,262 active cases to date. The localities that lead the number of active cases are:

Climb: 4,360
Engativá: 3,139
Kennedy: 3,243
Usaquen: 2,241
Fontibón: 1,440

“We are having more cases in the northern towns,” warned the Secretary of Health, Alejandro Gómez.

Measures

1. Suba, Engativá and Usaquén will be quarantined by locations between 00:00 on January 5 and 23:59 on January 18.

This is done because they are the localities that have:

– Highest level of contagion
– Greater speed of contagion.
– Greater participation in the return flow of travelers.

The rules are basically the same as those lived in the forties by localities of 2020:

– Restriction of mobility (with the same exceptions of the previous strict quarantines)

– Total restriction of activities between 8 pm and 5 am

– Closing of non-essential commerce, except supply, pharmacy and essential products.

– Prohibited sale of intoxicating drinks on the weekend.

– The supply will be between 5 am and 8 pm. (one person leaves per family group)

– Yes, the home service will work.

– If you are traveling and live in these locations, you can return, but once you are home, you must stay there.

Exceptions:

– Health personnel.

– People who care for adults or minors.

– Surveillance staff.

2. Hospital measures:

– Centralize provision and availability of mediacmentos

– Postpone non-urgent surgical procedures

– Monitoring of emergency units

– Reconversion of services to expand capacity.

3. Measures for travelers (from other locations)

– Voluntary isolation of at least 7 days.
